First Federal of Bucks County Scholarships $2500.00

Open to high school graduates from select school districts

First Federal of Bucks County annually sponsors the David M. Harris Honorary Scholarship, the Harold F. Oswald Honorary Scholarship, and the George W. Shaffer Memorial Scholarship.

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: - Future high school graduate from the following school districts intending to enroll in a minimum of twelve (12) credits at BCCC: Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, Bensalem, Morrisville, Pennsbury, Centennial, Central Bucks (East, West and South), Council Rock (North and South), New Hope/Solebury and Neshaminy. - Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 at their respective high school. - Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.

In the event that scholarship applicant finalists have identical credentials, the following rules apply: -The student demonstrating greater financial need will prevail. -The student of a customer will prevail over the student of an employee.

A. Marion Manning Scholarship minimum $300.00

Open to BCCC Business Administration majors

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credits as a Business Administration (Transfer) major in BCCC's Department of Business Studies. Intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of twelve (12) credits in the following fall after the award is made in the spring. Completed between 26 and 36 credits toward their accociate's degree.

This scholarship was established by Mr. George L. Manning in memory of his mother, a long-time BCCC employee.

  • Applicant with the highest cumulative GPA will be selected.

AAUW Makefield Area Branch Scholarship $500.00

Open to female students who reside in Lower Bucks County

This scholarship is designed to assist mature adult women (at least 21 years old) who are currently attending BCCC on at least a part-time (six credits) basis. Applicants must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, be a single parent, and reside in Lower Bucks County.

Altuglas International/Arkema Community Scholarship $500.00

Open to BCCC science majors enrolled at the Lower Bucks Campus

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credits and majoring in either biology, chemistry, engineering, or environmental science. Take at least one three (3) credit class at BCCC's Lower Bucks Campus. Completed less than 30 total credits at BCCC.Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5, and intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of twelve (12) credits in the fall after the award is made in the spring.

Note:

  • Prior recipients of this scholarship are eligible to reapply and receive preference if s/he intends to continue full time at BCCC in the selected program of study, and possess a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application.

Alumni Association Completion Scholarship minimum $500.00

Open to second-year BCCC students

This scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement and financial need as determined by BCCC's Financial Aid Office. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and have attempted 30 or more credits at BCCC. The award is to be used for tuition, fees, and books.

Amanda Sancataldo Scholarship for Students with Disabilities Amount varies

Open to female students served by disAbility Services

This scholarship provides assistive technology to female students who have a disability, distinguished themselves by their commitment to education, and receive services from BCCC’s disABILITY Services Office. Applicants must have a need for some type of assistive/adaptive technology.

American Federation of Teachers Local #2238-Golden Apple Award $350.00

Open to BCCC Education majors

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in BCCC’s Education Degree Program (including PreK-4, middle level, and secondary education transfer majors). Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25, and demonstrate academic excellence in education courses. Submit a letter of reference from an Education Program faculty member. Sought out and participated in opportunities to work with young people outside of class in a volunteer capacity. Consideration, as evidenced in recommendation letter, will be given for participation in the Future Teachers Organization; active participation in education classes; and contributions to the College.

Anita Parente Scholarship minimum $500.00

Open to full-time BCCC Education transfer majors

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credits and majoring in Education in BCCC's Department of Social & Behavioral Science. Preference is given to Education majors who are also enrolled in one or more history courses at the time of application. Completed 30 credits or less at BCCC, and possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Intend to reenroll at BCCC in a minimum of twelve (12) credits in the fall after the award is made in the spring.

Arthur Azarchi Precis Writing Contest 1st Prize-$350.00, 2nd Prize-$200.00, 3rd Prize-$150.00

Open to BCCC students enrolled in English Composition II courses

Every spring semester, the Department of Language and Literature will advertise this writing contest to students enrolled in its English Composition II courses via its faculty and staff. A faculty committee from the Department of Language will select two essays and attach them to the writing contest’s application forms. Applicants must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in order to submit their reaction paper to one of the essays.

Aunt Mary McGoldrick Nursing Scholarship $500.00

Open to incoming BCCC Nursing students

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Planning to enter BCCC’s Associate Degree Nursing Program by enrolling in NURS 101. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits (part-time status). Possess a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average.

Barbara Richard Long Memorial Scholarship $500.00

Open to BCCC Education transfer majors

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits and majoring in Education in BCCC's Department of Social & Behavioral Science. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, and completed 30 credits or less at BCCC and intend to reenroll at BCCC in a minimum of six (6) credits; or completed 30 credits or more at BCCC and intend to graduate and transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor's degree in Education.

BEAN, The Christine Jordan Memorial Scholarship Tuition and fees for two academic years (4 semesters) at in-county rate

Open to current or future BCCC students who are in recovery from drug addiction

This scholarship is intended to aid current or future BCCC students who are in recovery from drug addiction. Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Successful completion of a drug rehabilitation program. Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits in a program in one of the College’s six academic departments, or in a non-credit certificate program.

Brandon Awards $50.00

Open to BCCC students enrolled in COMP 090 and COMP107

Department of Language and Literature faculty members nominate students enrolled in COMP090 and COMP107 on the basis of attitude, writing ability, and special considerations like initiative, obstacles overcome, and contributions to the class. Winners will be selected by a committee headed by a Department of Language and Literature faculty member.

Brian Seibert Memorial Scholarship $500.00

Open to BCCC students who have had, or presently have cancer

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, and demonstrate financial need as determined by BCCC's Financial Aid Office. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received the award.

In the event of more than one student applying for this scholarship, it will be awarded to the student who demonstrates the most financial need.

Bridge to Higher Education Scholarship up to $3000.00 for one academic year

Open to Lower Bucks County high school student with financial need

This scholarship is intended for the Lower Bucks County community’s neediest students who don’t have the financial means to pursue a higher education degree, but nonetheless wish to pursue their higher education dreams at BCCC. Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Member of one of the following student populations: graduating Lower Bucks County public high school students; graduating Bucks County Technical High School students; GED graduates who reside in Lower Bucks County; or presently enrolled in the Bucks County Opportunity Council’s Self-Sufficiency Program. Be a United States citizen, U.S. national, or U.S. permanent resident. Intend to enroll in a minimum of twelve (12) credits in the fall after the award is made in the spring.

Note:

  • A recipient must make satisfactory academic progress once enrolled, minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, to receive the second $1,500 installment of the scholarship.
  • If I receive this scholarship, I agree to provide additional information throughout the fall semester to the BCCC Foundation to determine academic progress.

Bucks County Bank Future Business Leader Scholarship $2500.00

Open to BCCC Business Administration, Accounting, Office Adminstration & Systems Technology, and Small Business Management majors

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credits in one of the following majors: Business Administration (Transfer), Accounting (Occupational), Office Administration & Systems Technology (Occupational), or Small Business Management (Occupational). Intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of nine (9) credits and current major in the spring after the award is made in the fall. NOTE: Recipient must re-enroll to receive the award's second installment. Completed at least 24 total credits at BCCC. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.

Bucks County Community College Bookstore Scholarship $100.00 to $250.00

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Currently enrolled at BCCC in a minimum of six (6) credits, and intending to return for the following fall or spring semester and enroll in a minimum of six (6) credits. Possess a 2.0 cumulative GPA or better, and be in good academic and financial standing and in conformance with the College’s Code of Conduct.

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits, majoring in one of the following programs of study in BCCC's Department of Business Studies: Accounting (Occupational), Accounting & Taxation (Certificate), Bookkeeping (Certificate), Paralegal (Occupational). Carolyn's Hope Scholarship $500.00

Open to BCCC Nuring I or III students

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits and in the Nursing I or Nursing III course in BCCC’s Associate Degree Nursing Program. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8. Anticipate completing the required Nursing I or Nursing III course with a grade of B or better, and intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of six (6) credits in the spring after the award is made in the fall.

CCC Celt Association/Bernard W. Croke Memorial Scholarship $500.00 - $1,500.00

Open to full-time BCCC students

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits in an academic program in one of the College’s six academic departments. There is no minimum cumulative grade point average required to apply for this scholarship.

CCC Celt is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to build awareness and appreciation of the Celtic cultures. Its primary mission is to build a Celtic Library Collection, primarily at Bucks County Community College. This comprehensive collection includes over 3,000 printed volumes and 145 videos. It represents the histories, poetry, music, customs, language, archaeology, folklore, etc. of the Celtic nations: Brittany, Cornwall, Ireland, Isle of Mann, Scotland, and Wales. CCC Celt is passionate about Celtic cultures, and is building on its mission by offering scholarship assistance to an eligible applicant who can ably express in writing of high quality what he or she is passionate about and why this passion exists.

Charles W. Beem Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship $250.00

Open to members of BCCC's Phi Theta Kappa's PiXi chapter

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Membership in BCCC's Phi Theta Kappa's PiXi chapter, exemplifying the four hallmarks of PTK: Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship. Either be a first-year student intending to return to BCCC, or a second-year student about to graduate and intending to transfer to a four-year institution. Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.

Classified Employees' Outstanding Student Worker Award $500.00

Open to current BCCC student workers

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Employed as a student worker in any department or office on one of BCCC's campuses or off-campus locations. Length of service will be considered.

This award was established by BCCC's classified employees in recognition of the outstanding contributions made by student workers to the College's operation.

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in the Computer Science and/or Networking Technology disciplines in BCCC's Department of STEM with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5. Graduated from a Bucks County Vo-Tech School.

Council Rock Graduate STEM Scholarship $1000.00

Open to graduating Council Rock (North and South) high school students

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Graduating high school student from Council Rock School District (North and South). Intend to enroll in a minimum of twelve (12) credits as a freshman student majoring in biology, chemistry, physics, engineering or computer science in BCCC’s Department of STEM in the fall after the award is made in the spring. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 at the high school level.

Note:

  • Preference is given to applicants residing in Northampton Township.
  • Prior recipient is eligible to reapply for this scholarship if s/he intends to continue the program as a full-time student and has achieved a minimum 2.5 GPA for the past academic year. Preference is given to the prior recipient if s/he decides to apply.

Danny DeGennaro Memorial Award minimum $500

Open to BCCC students who are passionate about music

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits and majoring in a program in one of the College's six academic departments. Must perform one solo piece, selected by BCCC's music faculty, written by the late Danny DeGennaro.

This award was established in memory of Danny DeGennaro by his family, friends, and fans. "Rio", as he was lovingly called, was a gifted guitarist and songwriter who entertained crowds in Bucks County and toured nationally before his untimely death in 2011.

Deborah E. Dougherty Memorial Scholarship Endowment minimum $250.00

Open to BCCC students who use/receive services from the College's disABILITY Services office

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Use/receive services from BCCC’s disAbility Services office. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Major in a program in one of the College’s six academic departments. Preference is given to non-traditional applicants who are returning students.

Det. Sgt. George F. Stuckey Memorial Scholarship $1000.00

Open to second-year BCCC students majoring in Criminal Justice

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits and majoring in Criminal Justice in BCCC's Department of Social & Behavioral Science. Completed 30 credits or more at BCCC. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5, and intend to reenroll at BCCC in a minimum of twelve (12) credits in the spring after the award is made in the fall.

Established by the Bristol Township Police Benevolent Association to honor one of their own; Bristol Township Police Det. Sgt. George F. Stuckey, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on March 29, 1972. Det. Sgt. Stuckey was fatally wounded during a shootout with suspects who had just robbed a nearby bank. This dedicated officer made the ultimate sacrifice on Bath Road, Bristol, Pa., within sight of the Bristol Township Police Headquarters. Det. Sgt. Stuckey left behind a wife and two children. He is missed, but never to be forgotten.

Dr. Barry Sysler Memorial Scholarship $500.00

Open to first semester BCCC students

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits, majoring in a program of study in one of the College's six academic departments. To receive the award's second $250 installment, the recipient must return in the following spring semester after the award is made in the fall, possess a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, and enroll in six (6) credits.

Dr. Barry Sysler taught in BCCC's Health and Physical Education Department for 38 years. He was the men's and women's tennis coach for 27 seasons, and was inducted into the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Men’s Tennis Coach Hall of Fame in 1999. He was named Coach of the Year 10 times. Dr. Sysler was founder and president of Academic Directions, an educational consulting company that assisted families of college bound students to find an affordable and “right-fit.” He often provided pro bono assistance to families who could not afford his services but were in need of guidance, because he felt that every student needed a chance. This scholarship has been created in his memory to further his ideals of helping and education.

Dr. James J. Linksz President Emeritus Scholarship Endowment minimum $500.00

Open to all BCCC students who completed at least 20 credits

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits in a program in one of the College's six academic departments. Must have completed 20 or more credits. Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Must be in good academic standing and in conformance with the College's Code of Conduct, and demonstrate positive leadership and productive service to the College, and show further promise of leadership in other endeavors.

Endowed scholarship established by friends and colleagues of Dr. James J. Linksz as part of a tribute to his years of service (1992-2012) to the College.

Dr. John B. Smith Memorial Scholarship $750.00

Open to BCCC Small Business Management majors

Applicants must meet the following requirments at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credits and majoring in Small Business Management (Transfer) in BCCC's Department of Busienss Studies. Completed a minimum of 24 credits toward their associate's degree.

This scholarship was established by Mrs. John B. Smith in memory of her husband.

Dylong-Beader Art Scholarship $1500.00

Open to BCCC students majoring in the Fine Arts

Awarded to an outstanding student who majors in the fine arts curriculum in BCCC's Department of the Arts.

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits and majoring in Journalism in BCCC’s Department of Language & Literature. Open to BCCC female students who graduated from Neshaminy High School

Applicants must meet the following requirments at the time of application: Female student and graduate of Neshaminy High School. Currently enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits in one of BCCC's six academic departments. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5, and intend to return part time (minimum of 6 credits) in the fall semester after the award is made in the spring.

Elizabeth and Laura Bruhn International Student Scholarship minimum $500.00

Open to BCCC F-1 international students

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credits, majoring in a program of study in one of the College’s six academic departments. Possess F-1 student visa status, and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Elizabeth Rooney Music Scholarship Endowment minimum $500.00

Open to BCCC music majors

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credits and majoring in the Music program in the Department of the Arts. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, and intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of twelve (12) credits in the fall after the award is made in the spring.

Elizabeth V. Winpenny Nursing Scholarship $1000.00

Open to BCCC Nursing II students

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits and in the Nursing II course in BCCC’s Associate Degree Nursing Program. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0. Intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of six (6) credits in the fall after the award is made in the spring. Completed the required Nursing I course with a grade of B or better. Demonstrate financial need as determined by BCCC's Financial Aid office. Must be dedicated and hard working, and have a desire to make a meaningful contribution to the field of nursing.

Evan P. Zlock Scholarship minimum $1000.00

Open to BCCC students who exhibit determination and dedication to achieve their higher education goals

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits at BCCC, and intend to reenroll at BCCC in a minimum of six (6) credits in the fall after the award is made in the spring. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

Dedicated to the memory of Evan P. Zlock, WWII veteran and a wonderful father, to support those who show outstanding dedication and determination in obtaining a higher education.

Fellowship Foundation Scholarship minimum $750.00

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Completed at least 30 credits at the College. Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits in one of the College's six academic departments. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25, and demonstrate financial need as determined by the College's Financial Aid office.

  • Preference is given to applicants who provide evidence of community service, i.e. copies of certificates, letters of support/recommendation, etc.

First Federal of Bucks County-Frank R. Cosner Honorary Scholarship $500.00

Open to BCCC student majoring in Fire Science

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of three (3) credits and majoring in the Fire Science (credit) program in BCCC's Department of Social and Behavioral Science. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0, and intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of three (3) credits in the spring after the award is made in the fall.

In the event that scholarship applicant finalists have identical credentials, the following rules apply: The student demonstrating greater financial need will prevail. The student of a First Federal of Bucks County customer will prevail over the student of an employee.

Forbes Stuart Social Science Award $200.00

Open to graduating BCCC students majoring in a program in the Department of Social and Behavioral Science

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Exemplify high academic achievement, possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, and service to the community. Completed 30 credits or more at BCCC and intend to graduate in the year the award is made.

Foundations Community Partnership Scholarship $1250.00

Open to BCCC students majoring in a program in the Department of Social & Behavioral Science who are enrolled in or completed a course with a service learning, co-op, or internship component

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credits and majoring in a program in BCCC's Department of Social & Behavioral Science. This scholarship provides financial assistance for registration fees associated with the NCLEX licensing exam to one student completing his/her final year in BCCC’s Associate Degree Nursing Program.
